Kristian Gerhard Jebsen Skipsrederi A/S (KGJS) is a major owner, operator and manager of ships in the OBO, product/crude oil tanker and pneumatic cement carrier segments, with offices worldwide. KGJS has a substantial ongoing newbuilding programme. The KGJS main office in Bergen employs 140 people.

SKS is a 100% subsidiary of Kristian Gerhard Jebsen Skipsrederi AS. SKS has a modern, high quality fleet currently comprising 12 x 110 - 120.000 dwt Oil-Bulk-Ore carriers and 8 x 160.000 dwt Suezmax crude/product tankers, 8 x 120.000 dwt Aframax product tankers as well as two newbuildings. The fleet represents about 4 million dwt, including newbuildings. General description:

        The Vice President OBO & Tanker Fleet Management has the responsibility for the ship management functions for the SKS fleet.
        The position reports to the CEO KGJ Fleet Management


        Lead the OBO & Tanker Fleet Management department.
        Continuously seek improvement within all areas of responsibility.
        Participate in developing strategies in KGJS/SKS.
        Ensure that the service level from the OBO & Tanker Fleet Management department meets the expectations from both owners and customers.
        Ensure efficient reporting from the vessels on safety and technical issues.
        Communicate and enforce the Company’s safety and environmental policies and establish clear performance expectations to the fleet.
        Implement and monitor that officers and crew perform in compliance with KGJS’ policies and procedures.
        Coordinate technical and operational issues with SKS Operations & Chartering departments.
        Coordinate the OBO & Tanker Fleet Management department with other departments.
        Coordinate between different fleets.
        Maintain close contact with customer’s vetting organizations.
        Establish and monitor KPIs for the OBO & tanker fleet.
        Act as alternate for CEO KGJ Fleet Management.
        Member of the Emergency Response Team


        Minimum 10 years experience from ship management, including superintendent background.
        Ship management experience with Tankers/Chemical tankers.
        Higher educational background or relevant seagoing experience on management level required.
        Very good communication skills, verbal and written fluency in English.
        Very good negotiating skills.
        Good management experience. Proven management skills.
